Merant Redesign 2001
WEB SITE GOALS:
In 2002 Merant started selling a new tool for web content management.
They wanted to implement the use of this tool on merant.com,
and re-design the site to give it a fresh look. One of the biggest goals was to changed information architecture to be more solution oriented.
AUDIENCE:
- IT Managers, Developers
- Age range: 30 - 55
DESIGN SOLUTION:
With this design I wanted to keep the layout simple that way the design
would work smoothly with the content management application. I used
the 2 hues of blue for the navigation because older site was using
a lot of blue for the links, and buttons. I didn't want to deviate from
that association of blue being tied to navigation. We place the "Solution
Navigation" more in the top center, above the graphic so it would
be more visible. This would enable the customer to click on a solution giving more information,
and a sub navigation with products to select from.
